Therapist in the Macmillan Day Bed Unit

Oban Hospice Ltd funds the provision of specialist massage treatments for patients using the Macmillan Day Bed Unit in Lorn and Islands Hospital.  This valued treatment is provided by an Oban Hospice Specialist Cancer Massage Therapist.
 

Treatment Care Bags

Working with colleagues at the Macmillan Day Bed Unit at Lorn and Islands District General Hospital, we put together and donate Treatment Care Bags containing items that will help relieve the side effects of chemotherapy treatment. These bags contain items such as warm socks, soft bristle toothbrush and moisturising lotion.

In addition, we also have similar bags for anyone who is receiving radiotherapy treatment.

Hospital Relatives’ Room

Oban Hospice Ltd funded the refurbishment and upgrade of the Relatives’ Room in Lorn and Islands Hospital.  The refurbishment included the installation of wifi, new furnishings and provision of an en-suite shower.  This is available for relatives who wish to be close at hand in times of crisis.  

Two side rooms in ward I were also upgraded by Oban Hospice – this included the provision of soft furnishings, wifi, upgraded sound system and lighting.
