Cath originally trained as a psychiatric and then a general nurse and in 2001 she successfully completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling at the University of Strathclyde. The course was person centred and included working in a GP surgery to gain generic counselling experience.
Having retired from full time work Cath now offers counselling in the Dove Centre and has a small private practice in her home on Seil Island.
Elaine has been a therapist since 1998 and has worked with Oban Hospice for a number of years both in its previous location and at the Dove Centre. She has trained in several different therapies including oncology massage, foot refloxology and Indian Head massage, which she adapts to meet the needs of the individual client.
Rie is a Manual Therapist, a Lymphoedema Therapist and a Pilates Instructor. She uses hands-on physical techniques such as massage, scar tissue therapy and acupuncture to relieve pain, restore movement to assist the body's own healing processes.
Adrianne is a relatively new member of the team - she offers Reiki which promotes a sense of deep relaxation and well-being.
Dame Judi, who is a frequent visitor to the area, recorded a video to boost sales of our 2022 fund-raising calendar
